A quadrant is one of four equal sections you get when you divide something into four parts, usually with two lines that cross each other. You'll see this on graphs (the four quadrants made by the x-axis and y-axis), on maps or city plans (the northwest quadrant of the city), and even in old-fashioned tools sailors once used to measure angles at sea. It can also simply mean a of a circle.
