把球滾進洞的那塊平草地
兩個意思共用同一塊草地,分別放在正式球場和公園裡。
noun · B2
On a golf course, one of the smooth, very short areas of grass around a hole, where a player hits the ball gently so that it rolls along the ground and into the hole.
果嶺(推桿區)
Picture a patch of grass cut shorter than any lawn you have walked on, then rolled flat until it feels like carpet under a shoe, with a hole in it. Nothing flies here. A ball put on this grass can only roll, and because the surface is so even, it rolls exactly where the slope sends it. That patch, with its hole and its gentle roll, is the whole of the word: both meanings are a piece of grass kept smooth so that a ball can be rolled into a hole.
