Pronto means quickly or right now. It is informal and a little — the kind of word a boss, a soldier, or a film character might throw at you: “I need that report pronto.” It is not for school essays or polite letters. Though actually, it has nothing to do with pronounce, even though it starts the same way. English borrowed it from Spanish pronto (“ready, soon”), and that Spanish word comes from the same Latin word as English prompt. So pronto and prompt are family; pronounce is a different street. In English it is almost always an adverb (“do it pronto”), not a description of a person.
