    Posthumously is the adverb of posthumous: in a way that happens after someone has died. He was posthumously awarded a medal means the medal came after his death. The book was published posthumously means it came out when the writer was already gone. Same formal world as the adjective — news, history, prizes — and the same pronunciation family: POS-chuh-mus-lee. You are not adding a new meaning; you are only saying when and how the thing happened. If the sentence already has after his death, you usually do not need this word as well.
