Poppyseed is the tiny seed of the poppy plant, usually blue-black, used in cakes, bread, bagels, and fillings. You taste a faint nutty crunch, not a strong flavour. Bakers may write it as two words (poppy seed) or as one; both are common. In a Taiwan bakery you may see them on a bun, looking a bit like very small black . Though actually, because the poppy plant is also famous for , some people worry that the seeds are dangerous. The seeds on food are a normal ingredient. A lot of them can sometimes confuse a drug test, which is a side fact, not a reason to fear a bun.
