A pommy is a pom: a British person, in Australian and New Zealand English. The extra -y is only a small ending people add; it does not make the word kind. It can still be a joke between friends or a real insult, same as pom. You also hear it in front of a noun: a pommy accent, pommy humour. It has been around since about 1912. Same warning as pom: this is their word, in their place, and it can land badly. Though actually some British people in Australia use it of themselves, with a shrug; that still does not give a visitor the right to throw it at someone else.
