Someone or something that people like a lot — a person, a song, a film, a joke, a dish. You meet it most in compounds. A crowd-pleaser is the thing the whole room enjoys: a loud chorus, a sweet dessert, a film with a tidy ending. A people-pleaser is a later, slightly different use: a person who works very hard to keep everyone happy, sometimes too hard, and that can sound like a gentle warning, not praise. On its own, “a real pleaser” is informal, a bit American, and not a classroom-formal word. It does not mean “a person whose job is to say please.”

討喜的人；很受歡迎的東西。crowd-pleaser 是大家都會喜歡的；people-pleaser 則是一味討好別人的人，語氣不太一樣。
