Planetary simply means relating to a planet, or to planets in general — a planetary orbit is the path a planet takes around a star, and a scientist who studies planets can be called a planetary scientist. It is also sometimes used to talk about something on a huge, whole-world scale, like 'a planetary crisis' — a problem affecting the entire planet.
