    Phrasal means “about a phrase” or “made of a phrase.” In English class you meet it most often in phrasal verb: a verb plus a small word like up, off, or out (give up, look after, turn off) that makes a new meaning together. There are also phrasal and similar labels, but almost always meet phrasal next to verb. As a noun it is rare; some grammar books say “a phrasal” to mean a phrasal verb, but that is specialist talk. Though actually, a phrase in grammar is not the same thing as a phrasal verb. A phrase is any small group of words that belong together; a phrasal verb is one special kind of verb.
