A pedicure is a treatment for your feet and , to make them more comfortable or more beautiful. Someone — often in a salon — soaks the feet, cuts and shapes the nails, rubs hard skin, and may paint the nails. People get one because their feet hurt, because they want them to look nice, or both. You can also use it as a verb: she pedicured my feet; I pedicured them myself at home. It is an everyday beauty-and-care word, not hospital medicine, though a nurse may do foot care for health. The matching word for hands is manicure. Though actually, a pedicure is not the same as seeing a foot doctor (a ) for a real foot illness. That is medicine; a pedicure is comfort and looks.
