    Peddling means going around selling things, often small goods, often moving from place to place or door to door, and often with a sense that the seller is not fully trustworthy or that the goods are low quality or illegal. 'Peddling drugs' means illegally selling drugs. It can also be used for spreading something bad, like 'peddling rumors' or 'peddling lies' — pushing false information onto people.
