    In many Protestant churches, the person who leads the church, preaches on Sunday, and looks after the people is called a pastor. Baptists, Methodists, Lutherans, Presbyterians, and most Protestant churches in Taiwan use this word. The old Latin word meant “shepherd,” and the picture is still there: a pastor cares for a flock. It is a respectful title, often written Pastor before a name. Though actually, it is not simply another word for priest. Catholics usually say priest or father. Some English-speaking Catholics do call the priest in charge of a parish “pastor,” which can confuse . A pastor in a Protestant church may marry and have a family; a Catholic priest normally may not.
