A partygoer is someone who is at a party — one of the guests. Writers often use the plural, the partygoers, for the crowd at an event. Though actually, the word also leans toward a type of person: someone who goes to parties a lot and likes that life. A newspaper might say “tired partygoers left at dawn” (just the people who were there) or “he has always been a partygoer” (it is his habit). It is an informal, kind of noun; in speech people more often say guests or people at the party. You may also see it written party-goer.
