- 1
A moviegoer is a person who goes to the cinema to see films, especially as a habit — not once in a lifetime, but often enough that it is part of how they spend their time. The word has movie in it, so it sounds a little American; in Britain people may say cinema-goer or film-goer instead, but a student will still be understood. It points to the outing: buying a ticket, sitting in the dark with other people. Someone who only watches films on a phone at home is a film fan, but not really a moviegoer.

moviegoernoun
- 1
Person who regularly frequents movie theaters.
- Russian moviegoers have a special term for films whose storyline or atmosphere just does not ring true. It’s klyukva, or “cranberry.” Reviews of “Black Widow” bristle with that term.
