A paederast is a man who has sexual contact with a boy. That is a crime, and the word names harm, not love. It is old and formal. You will see this British spelling with ae in some books; American English . Writers still use it when they talk about ancient Greece, where some adult men had sexual relationships with teenage boys — that history is real, though actually it does not make the act right, and in our world it is against the law. In news and everyday talk, people more often say a man who abused a child, because paederast can sound like a cold textbook label. It is not a joke word and not a light insult.
對男童性侵的男人(書面也稱「孌童者」;新聞較常直接說性侵)
組成paed- (from Greek for “child” or “boy”) plus a piece from Greek erastēs, “lover”. The British spelling keeps ae.
