Orthographic, in the sense you need here, is about the way words are spelled — which letters we use, in which order, for a word. Teachers and language people say orthographic knowledge (knowing spellings), orthographic errors (spelling mistakes), the orthographic system of a language. It is a school-and-linguistics word; in ordinary talk we just say spelling. The tidy idea is “correct writing of words,” though actually English spelling is often not tidy at all, and this word still names that system, mess and all. There is another, more technical use in drawing and maths: an orthographic view is a flat, straight-on picture with no vanishing point. That is a different job for the same word; here the filing is the spelling one. The related noun for the spelling system is orthography.
