Off-air means a radio or TV programme is not going out to people right now. A station can be off-air at night, in a break, or because something has gone wrong. People also say a presenter is talking off-air when the microphone is off — that talk is not part of the show. It is everyday media English, not a fancy word. The pair is on-air (going out now) and off-air (not going out now).
off-air 指廣播或電視節目目前沒有播出，例如電台在半夜、休息時段，或因為出了狀況而停播，都可以說是 off-air。它也可以用在主持人的說話上：當麥克風關掉時，主持人說的話就是「talking off-air」，那段話不屬於節目內容。這是日常的媒體用語，不是特別華麗的字。它和 on-air 是一組相對的詞：on-air 是正在播出，off-air 則是沒有播出。
