    Nottingham is a city in the middle of England, in the county of . For a long time it was a busy industrial city, with chemicals, engineering, and clothing. It is especially known for lace: very fine cloth with tiny holes in a pattern. The old stories of Robin Hood are set in this area; in those stories the Sheriff of Nottingham is usually the enemy. Though actually, the green-wood part of the legend belongs more to Sherwood Forest, just outside the city, than to the city streets themselves. People still come for the story, and for the city.
