Nordic describes the north European countries of Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, and Finland, and the people who come from them. You see it in news, travel, and design: Nordic countries, a Nordic winter, Nordic design (simple rooms, pale wood).

Finland is Nordic, but Finnish is a different kind of language, so some people do not call Finland Scandinavian.
