A nodule is a small round raised part, like a tiny knot sitting on or just under a surface. Doctors use it for a little lump in the skin, the thyroid, the lung, and so on — often something you can feel with a finger, and usually not huge. use it for the small round swellings on the roots of plants such as beans, which help the plant take in nitrogen. use it for little rounded lumps in rock. It is a calm, technical word. It does not by itself mean that something is dangerous; a doctor may still want to check a nodule, because some lumps need a closer look. In everyday talk, people more often say lump or bump.
組成Borrowed from Latin nodulus, “small knot,” from nodus, “knot.” English node comes from that same Latin word. Nodulus is a rare learned twin of nodule, almost never used.
