    Nodular is a describing word for something that has small round raised parts, or that is made of them — the same little swellings called . A doctor may say a thyroid feels nodular, meaning the surface is not smooth but has little round lumps. A gardener may talk of nodular roots on beans, where tiny round swellings grow on the root. The word belongs to medical and scientific talk.
