Noddle is a friendly, old-fashioned British word for your head — and for the brain you think with. Nobody uses it in a biology lesson. You hear it in jokes and in the talk of older British speakers: “Use your noddle!” means “Think!” or “You can work this out.” It can also mean the physical head, as when someone gets a knock on the noddle. It is not rude, and it is not a medical word. It just has a warm, slightly comic feel, like nudging someone to use the sense they already have. American speakers more often say “use your ” for the same idea. Young people in Britain now mostly just say head or brain.
