A needlewoman is a woman who well — an older, neat word for someone whose skill is with a needle. It can mean a woman who for a living, or simply a woman who is very good at it at home. The word is needle + woman, built the same way as . It sounds old-fashioned now. People more often say seamstress, or just “she ”. You will still meet it in older stories and in descriptions of village life. There is no everyday needleman in the same slot; for a man, the old trade word was more often tailor.
