    A necklet is a short necklace — one that sits close to the neck rather than hanging down the chest. The ending -let makes a smaller or shorter version of something, so a necklet is “a little neck-piece.” Jewellers still use the word; many ordinary speakers just say a short necklace, or a choker if it sits even tighter. It is not a very common word in casual talk.
