Namechecking is the same idea as to name-check, written as one word in the -ing form: mentioning a person, a product, a shop, or a place by name in a song, an , a video, or a thank-you, so they get noticed. It can be thanks; it can be a quiet . Media and music people use it a lot. Still not “checking someone’s name” on a list.
