    In informal British English, a mo is a very short time — really just a moment, cut down. People say “hang on a mo” or “I’ll be there in a mo” when they mean wait a tiny bit. It is friendly and spoken, the kind of thing you say to a friend or in a shop, not the kind of thing you put in a school essay. American speakers hardly use it; they would say a sec or a minute. Other words spelled mo exist, including a family name, but this entry is only that little slice of time.
