1. 1

If a person or a scene is mirthful, it is full of that laughing happiness. A mirthful look is already laughing, or just about to. A mirthful room is one where the joke has landed and people have not closed up yet. It is a rather word. In speech most people would just say cheerful, or full of laughter. Though actually, mirthful is about the person or the scene having the laugh in them. It is not the same as funny, which is about making other people laugh. A joke can be funny; the people hearing it are mirthful.
