    Megabucks means a huge amount of money. It is casual, slightly joking American English, and it is always plural in form — you say 'megabucks', never 'a megabuck'. You will hear it in phrases like 'he's making megabucks' or 'that house cost megabucks'. It does not name a real quantity; nobody could tell you how many dollars megabucks is. That vagueness is the point — the speaker is saying 'so much money it's silly'. Because it is playful, it often carries a small shrug of envy or , as if the money is more than any normal person needs.
