If someone is meek, they are very quiet and gentle, and they do not like to argue. They often let other people decide, even when they are not happy.
Though actually, meek is not the same as weak, and mixing them is the usual mistake. A meek person may be strong inside. They just do not push, shout, or fight back. Sometimes that is kindness. Sometimes it is fear. You have to look at the situation.
The word can feel a little old, and you meet it more in books and in church language than in everyday chat. In the Christian Bible there is a famous line that the meek will inherit the earth — there it is closer to 'humble' and 'not proud' than to 'scared'. In ordinary talk now, calling someone meek can sound a bit , as if they let people walk over them.
組成From Middle English meek / meke / meoc, probably borrowed from Old Norse mjúkr, 'soft; meek'. That Norse word goes back to an older Germanic word for 'soft, supple'. The English word did not come from weak, even though the two now sit near each other in meaning.
