    Marketeering is the activity of selling or pushing goods and services — what a marketeer does. You will not hear this word every day. Marketing is the normal school and office word for the same broad idea. When writers choose marketeering, they sometimes want a sharper tone, as if someone is busy selling rather than planning quiet ads. Though actually, it is a rare cousin, not a totally different job. Do not read it as “someone who sells”: that person is the marketeer; this word is the doing.
