A mark-up (also written markup) is the extra money added on top of what something cost, especially from the price a shop pays to the price it sells at. If a shop buys a shirt for $10 and sells it for $15, the mark-up is that extra $5 — though actually people are loose about whether they mean the dollar gap or a percentage, and both get called mark-up. It is shop and business language. The two-word verb is mark up: to put that higher price on. This is the money meaning. The same spelling markup also lives in computers and publishing (marks you add to text, like HTML). That is a different job for the word, not this one.
「mark-up」指在商品成本之上多加的錢，常指店家從進貨價到售價之間的差額。例如 10 元進的襯衫以 15 元賣出，加成就是那多出來的 5 元。這是商業用語，動詞是「mark up」，意思是把價格往上加。
這裡大家的說法比較鬆散，有時指金額差，有時指百分比，兩種都叫「mark-up」。另有同樣拼法的「markup」，屬於電腦和出版領域，指在文字上加的標記，例如網頁語言裡的標記，那是另一個意思。
