Manorial means “of a manor”: the old English system in which a lord held a house, the land around it, and rights over the people who lived and worked there. Historians talk about manorial land, manorial courts, and manorial rights — the rules that said who farmed which fields and what they owed the lord. It is a bookish, formal word; you meet it in history and in some old property papers, not in everyday talk. People sometimes stretch it to mean “grand, like a big country house,” but that is looser than the real use. Though actually, a manor was a whole little world of land and duty, not just a fancy building.
