Used to show that you are talking about the words of a song, and not about the music, the singing or anything else about it.
One way to hold lyrically is to picture a song split in two: on one side the tune, on the other side the words being sung. The word always has its hand on the words side. From there it does two jobs — it can mean 'I am talking about that side', or it can mean 'this is as beautiful as that side is when it is done well'.
The adverb is lyrical plus -ly, so it inherits whatever lyrical already carried: belonging to song.
