Low-tech describes a way of working that does not use the newest machines or computer systems. A low-tech factory might still use simple tools and human hands; a low-tech classroom might use paper and a instead of tablets. It is the everyday opposite of high-tech. Sometimes people say it with a smile, meaning simple and solid; sometimes they say it with disappointment, meaning behind the times. In business and industry it is often a calm label, though it can sound like a judgement if you are talking about a company that 'should' have modern kit. Though actually, low-tech does not mean 'no skill' or 'stupid'. A wooden boat or a paper map can be low-tech and still be clever.
low-tech 用來形容不使用最新機器或電腦系統的工作方式，是 high-tech 的日常反義詞。例如「a low-tech factory」可能仍然用簡單工具和人手，「a low-tech classroom」可能用紙和黑板，而不是平板。
