If something is low-risk, it is likely to be safe, or at least not likely to go badly wrong. Doctors call a simple operation low-risk when serious problems are rare. Money people call an investment low-risk when you are not likely to lose a lot — though you also usually will not win a lot. Schools, travel, and hobbies get the same label: a low-risk activity is one where trouble is not expected. It sounds a little official; you meet it on forms and in the news more than in chat. Though actually, low-risk never means 'no risk at all'. It means the chance of harm is smaller than usual, not that nothing can happen.
low-risk 表示事情很可能安全，或至少不太會出大問題。醫生說一項簡單手術是低風險，指嚴重問題很少見；理財人士說一項投資是低風險，代表不太會虧大錢，但通常也不會賺大錢。學校、旅遊和嗜好也可以用同樣的標籤，例如 「a low-risk activity」，指大家預期不會出事的活動。
它聽起來有點正式，在表格和新聞中比聊天常見。要注意它不是完全沒有風險，只是傷害的機會比平常小，事情仍然有可能出錯。
