- 1
Loveless means there is no love in it. We say a loveless marriage when two people still share a house, but the warm feeling has gone, or was never there. We say a loveless childhood when a child had food and a roof, but not much care. You can also call a life or a home loveless. Calling a person loveless — as if they cannot love — is a hard, rather thing to say, and it sounds cold. The word is not a shout. It is sad, and a little empty. It belongs in stories, news, and careful talk more than in jokes.
沒有愛的、缺乏愛的(婚姻、童年、家庭都常這樣說)
