Long-lived means living or existing for a long time. People and animals can be long-lived (they tend to live many years). Plants, companies, TV shows, and traditions can be long-lived too: they stay in the world for a long stretch. For a person it is close to “they live a long life,” but as an adjective it often describes a type: a long-lived family, a long-lived species.
Long-lived means Long-lived 是指 living or existing for a long time活得久、或存在得長久。 People and animals人和動物 can be long-lived都可以 long-lived (they tend to live many years)(通常能活很多年)。 Plants, companies, TV shows, and traditions植物、公司、電視節目和傳統 can be long-lived too也都可以: they stay in the world它們留在世上 for a long stretch很長一段時間。 For a person用在人身上, it is close to它接近 "they live a long life,"「他們活得長壽」, but as an adjective但作為形容詞, it often describes a type它常常在說一個類型: a long-lived family長壽的家族、 a long-lived species長壽的物種。
It comes from life, not from the everyday verb live, though the two are cousins. You will hear two pronunciations for the second half: like lived in “I lived here,” or like life + d. Both are used; the life one matches how the word was built.
It comes from life它是從 life 來的, not from the everyday verb live不是從日常那個動詞 live 來的, though the two are cousins雖然這兩個字是表親。 for the second half這個字的後半, You will hear two pronunciations你會聽到兩種念法: like lived in "I lived here,"像 "I lived here" 裡的 lived, or like life + d或像 life 加上 d。 Both are used兩種都有人用; the life one念 life 的那一種 matches how the word was built和這個字的來歷相合。
It overlaps with long-lasting, though actually long-lived leans toward “how many years this life or this thing has had,” and long-lasting leans toward “it does not wear out.”
It overlaps with long-lasting它和 long-lasting 有重疊, though actually不過其實, long-lived leans toward long-lived 偏向 "how many years this life or this thing has had,"「這條命、這樣東西已經有了多少年」, and long-lasting leans toward而 long-lasting 偏向 "it does not wear out."「它不會磨損、不會壞」。
