Logistically is about the arranging of a thing in the real world: the people, the stuff, the timing, the getting from here to there. Logistics is that arranging; logistical is the adjective; logistically is how you say it as an adverb. A plan can be wise and still be logistically hard — you simply cannot find enough buses, or the food will spoil, or fifty people cannot all sleep in two rooms. Armies, hospitals, concert crews, and school-trip teachers live in this word. It sounds grown-up and a little office-like; children rarely need it. People also stretch it. Someone may say “logistically I can’t come” when they only mean it would be a hassle, not that they have drawn a supply chart. That loose use is common. What it does not mean is “in a way that makes sense in the mind.” That is logically, a neighbour that has tripped many students.
