Liveblogging is the -ing form of liveblog: the act of writing those running updates while the event is still going on. You can use it as a verb in progress (“they are liveblogging the trial”) or as a name for the activity itself (“liveblogging takes a lot of typing”). Same job as the verb liveblog; this form just names the doing of it. Writers sit with the news as it changes and keep adding short posts, sometimes for hours.
