1. 1

When you liquidize fruit, vegetables, or soup, you crush them in a machine until they become a thick drink or a smooth sauce — mango you can sip, tomato soup with no lumps. It is mainly a British kitchen word. In the US people more often say blend, or puree if the food stays thick. Though actually, this is not the same as liquefy: liquefy is the wider, more scientific word for making anything become liquid, even by heat (ice liquefies when it melts). Liquidize is the cooking one, with spinning blades. You meet it in recipes: liquidize the berries, liquidize the soup. It is a practical home word, not slang and not fancy. Some packets write liquidise with an s; that is only the other British spelling, not a different verb. A different trap is liquidate, which is money and business — selling things off — and has nothing to do with the kitchen.
