Lino is the short, everyday word for — the shiny sheet people used to put on kitchen and bathroom floors. It is British, informal, and a little old-fashioned; you still hear “lino floor” in the UK. Americans more often say , or now just vinyl. Though actually, a lot of what people call lino today is plastic vinyl, not the old flax-oil material. In Taiwan you would simply name the floor covering in Chinese; nobody borrows this .
