Lincolnshire is a large county in the east of England, with the North Sea on one side. The main city in the county is Lincoln, which sits on a hill with a famous old cathedral. Much of the land is wide and used for farming; in the south, some of it was once wet ground that people had to dry before they could grow food. In addresses and on signs you may see the short form Lincs. It is a place name, so it takes a capital L. People from there are sometimes teased with an old nickname, Yellowbelly, though they do not all love it.

A county of eastern England bordered by South Yorkshire, East Riding of Yorkshire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Rutland and the North Sea.
