- 1
Limeade is a drink made from lime juice, mixed with water and usually sugar. It is the lime sister of lemonade: sour, cold, and often served in summer. It may be still or fizzy, homemade or from a bottle. In English, -ade on a fruit name often means a sweet drink from that fruit. Though actually, in shops you will see lime soda or lime drink as often as limeade itself — people understand limeade, but it can sound a little more old-fashioned or American than lemonade. It is not alcohol.
