Leastways means at least. It is an old or dialect way of speaking, heard in some British and American voices, and in stories that want to sound folksy: “I don’t know her, leastways not well.” Students should be able to read it. They should not use it in school essays or formal letters — at least is the usual word. Though actually, some older speakers still say it without thinking it is quaint.
