1. 1

To laze is to rest and enjoy yourself in a lazy way — not working, not rushing, often lying down or sitting in the sun. You laze in bed on a Sunday. You laze on the beach. It is informal and usually kind; it does not bite the way “you are lazy at work” can. People also laze about or laze around, which means they spend time doing very little, in a loose, happy way. It is a verb. Though actually, English made this verb from the adjective lazy, not the other way round: lazy was there first, and then people cut a verb out of it. You cannot say “I am laze”; you say “I am lazy,” or “I laze all day.”
