A kidult is an adult who still loves the games, toys, films, and shops that many people think of as being for children — video games, little plastic heroes, theme parks, cartoons. You will also meet it as a describing word: kidult humour, the kidult market. Shops like the word, because those adults have money. Magazines sometimes use it with a little , as if the person has refused to grow up. Though actually, plenty of people who buy those things are not ashamed; they just like them. The word grew when toys and games for grown-ups became a huge business. It is informal. It is not a doctor's word, and it is not automatically an insult — though it can lean that way if the speaker's voice is .
