    A kickflip is a trick. You jump up with the board, then flick one edge with the toes of your front foot so the board spins over in the air, and you land back on it. The name is simply kick + flip: you kick it to make it flip. Though actually, it is not another word for a . A looks similar, but you flick with your heel, and the board spins the other way. Skaters treat them as two different tricks. Some books lump them together; the skate park does not. You will hear kickflip from skaters far more than in formal English.
