    A keylogger is software that down which keys you press on a computer — letters, numbers, passwords, even the delete key. Some workplaces or parents put it on a machine they say they have a right to watch. Quite often, though, it is put on a computer in secret so someone can steal logins and bank details. The word is used in news and computer-safety talk more than in ordinary chat. here means something that keeps a log, a written record of what happened, not a person who cuts trees. You need the idea so you can be careful on a shared computer; you do not need to know how such software is built.
