Jollification means fun and enjoyment, especially the noisy, cheerful kind you get at a party or a celebration — people laughing, eating, maybe drinking, having a good time together. Younger people almost never need it; they say fun, a party, a celebration. Older writing and playful writing still like it. It is not a wild, out-of-control word by itself — it is merrymaking, not a riot — though a night of jollification can of course get loud.
