Jackson, with a capital J, is the capital city of the US state of Mississippi, in the south of the United States. That is the map meaning here — a place, not a pop star and not every person named Jackson. The word began as a family name: Jack + -son, “son of Jack.” The city took that family name (it was named after Andrew Jackson, a US president). There are other towns called Jackson in the United States, so on a test or in a geography book, the extra clue “capital of Mississippi” is what pins this one down. You write it with a capital letter because it is a proper name.
傑克森(美國密西西比州首府)
組成Jack + -son, “son of Jack.” The city uses that family name.
